Certified Life Coach
Licensed Professional Counselor
I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska in 2007. My Bachelor's degree is in Psychology and my Master's is in Community Counseling. I founded New Balance Professional Counseling in 2015, and recently added life coaching and career coaching to my tool box, after obtaining my PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification in early 2019. I am licensed by the State of Colorado and am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).

I practice both counseling and coaching from Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioral (DBT), and existential perspectives. What this means in practice is that when I'm listening to a clients experience, I'm listening for thoughts and beliefs that might be negatively impacting the person's mood, or getting in the way of achieving important goals. I work with client's to change these to be more helpful, or to find alternatives that are congruent with the client's values and goals. The narrative that we develop together will help to facilitate cognitive and behavioral change, as well as assign meaning to important experiences.
